Description

Drumstick grows on almost all kinds of soils provided the drainage is good. They can be sown directly but raising seedlings is a better option. One can sow the seeds in polybags and after a month or 45 days transplant the seedlings into their final place.
To sow in fields, you can keep a distance of 10 feet X 10 feet between plants as well as rows. Within 3 months the plants are almost 4 to 5 feet tall. You can do little top cutting to ensure that new branches form at lower stems which too will bear fruits thus increasing the yield.
The seeds in this packet are of selection type bearing good, uniform fruits of one to one a half feet long fruits. The fruit begins from the end of 7 month to 8 months at the most.
On an average, one plant bears 300 to 350 fruits.
To obtain more & better quality of fruit use Super Vegetable fertilizer once every 15 days and once every 7 days when the buds appear (Instruction on the product pack.)
