- It can be grown on most kinds of soils provided they are well drained. The seedlings can be grown directly. The spacing should be 100-120cms between rows and 20cms between plants.
- It is a creeper and due to the weight of the fruits is grown along the ground. It can not be grown in pots.
- The fruits are harvested after approx. 85-90 days of sowing. They are separated out by cutting the stalk with the help of a knife. Fruits should be picked at regular intervals and not delayed as it has adverse effects on the next fruit formation.
